5.10 Check, tighten and change v-belt
5.10.1 Check v-belt
 Visually inspect the v-belt around the entire circumference for damage.
 Replace the damaged v-belt.
 With a new v-belt, check the belt tension after 15 minutes of running.
 Use a v-belt tension gauge to check the v-belt tension (Regarding this, see the
Deutz operating instructions).
- Lower the indicator arm (1) on the gauge. Lay the guide (3) on the v-belt (2) be-
tween the two v-belt pulleys, with the shaft close to the sides.
- Evenly press the push button (4) at right angle to the v-belt (2) until you can hear
or feel the spring release.
- Carefully lift the gauge, without changing the position of the indicator arm (1).
Read the gauge at the junction (arrow), scale (5) and indicator arm (1).
For settings, see the Deutz operating instructions.
- If necessary, tighten and measure again.
5.10.2 Tighten v-belt
- Loose screws (1), (2) and (3).
- Shift the generator (4) in the direction of
the arrow by turning the screw (3) until the
correct v-belt tension is achieved.
- Tighten screws (1), (2) and (3) again.
