Paddleboard Installation
WARNING
For correct operation, the 087-86430-90 subassembly (JVT/DS0 channel
bus extender) must not be installed underneath nor on either side of the
86498-94 paddleboard assembly.
1. Place the 86498-94 paddleboard (consisting of three paddleboard levels
attached to each other) onto the designated slot positions ensuring that the
rear connectors are fully mated. Ensure the correct orientation of the
paddleboard prior to insertion.
2. Install one (or two) quad-port modules onto the 86498-94 paddleboard Banks
A and/or B, as required. Note that Bank A can accommodate only 86418-6X
modules while Bank B can accommodate only 86498-95 module.
3. Secure the quad-port modules along with the 86498-94 paddleboard in
position using fixing screws provided. Note that all four screws must be in
place even if only one quad-port module is installed.
Figure 32 is an example showing an 86498-94 paddleboard with two quad-port
modules installed. The paddleboard is shown with SFP transceivers installed for
ports 1, 2, G1 and G2 and with no fixing screws in place.
