Local Log Table-Only Faults
The following faults appear only in the local log table of the PNC module. They have an Entry Type
of Local Fault, when viewed using the Command Line Interface
log details
command. The Local Log
Table also contains the faults that are reported to the RX3i CPU. Those faults, which are listed later
in this chapter, are not repeated here.

Internal fatal error encountered
The reason for the reset is indicated by the
description shown when displaying the fault.
If the restart is due to a H/W
watchdog timer expiration, or
internal fatal error, note the fault
extra data and contact customer
service.

Time synchronization
with RX3i controller
failed.
The PNC was unable to synchronize its
current time with the RX3i controller.
Contact customer service.

Invalid Media
Redundancy
Configuration
PNC encountered an error related to
applying Media Redundancy configuration
parameters.

PNC was unable to close an opened OS
socket.

The PNC failed to write data to nonvolatile
memory, which could result from
configuration store/clear operations from the
programmer, or Command Line Interface
commands.

Return of Submodule
PROFINET Alarm
received.
The PNC has received a Return of
Submodule PROFINET alarm from a
PROFINET device.
None.

Submodule replied
negatively to Plug
configuration.
The PNC received a negative
acknowledgement while attempting to re-
configure a PROFINET submodule that had
been plugged back in to a device.
Re-attempt plug of submodule,
by removing the submodule and
re-inserting it within the device.
