Section 7.5 Case/Shielding Removal "Abridged" Calibration
When the case or x-ray shielding is removed from the Locus SP, an "abridged" calibration is
performed which consists of centring the stage, performing verification scans, editing calibration
settings, and follow up. This is also performed whenever the system is moved. The procedures
below use the following applications:
• System Warm-Up (C:\Program Files\GE Medical Systems\eXplore Utilities\WarmupApp.exe)
• Calibration Tools (C:\Program Files\GE Medical Systems\eXplore Utilities\Calibration.exe)
• X-Ray and Motor Controller . The X-Ray and Motor Controller (C:\Program Files\GE
Medical Systems\eXplore Utilities\X_Ray_Controller.exe)
• transgen program (C:\Program Files\GE Medial Systems\eXplore
Utilities\Calibration\transgen.exe)
7.5.1 Centre the Stage
This procedure is used to centre the stage between the X-Ray Source and the detector.
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to D:/. Copy the calib folder and rename it
original_calib .
2. Turn the unit ON using the key, and press the red Reset button.
3. Warm-up the X-Ray Source using the System Warm-Up application as follows:
- right-click the Warm-Up icon in the task bar and select the <=10 Minutes to Scan option
- once the cycle has finished (approximately 14 minutes), right-click the icon again and
select
Scan Mode .
The System Warm-Up application can be re-initialized by double-clicking on WarmupApp.exe
in C:\Program Files\GE Medical Systems\eXplore Utilities\
4. Access the X-Ray and Motor Controller program.
5. Ensure the fields below are set to the following settings:
Enable Left Limit: checked off
Enable Right Limit: checked off
Camera: Thomson 8M
Bin Mode: 1 x 1
Exposure Time: 3000 ms
kV: 80
µA: 80
