7.4.2
Centre the Stage
This procedure is used to centre the stage between the X-Ray Source and the detector. With the
X,Y Centring Ball tool still mounted and the system warmed up:
1.
Use the
X-Ray and Motor Controller
’s Magnification setting to move the stage 140mm toward
the detector.
2.
Capture the image in
Fluoro
and name it
capture
.
3.
Correct and unwarp the captured image using
Calibration Tools
.
Find the Geometric Centre of the Ball at Detector End:
Note:
To find the geometric centre of the ball, determine the x value on the right and left side of the ball.
Add the values together and divide by 2. To find the geometric centre as follows.
4.
Use the Pan and Zoom features in
MicroView
to get the ball in the desired area of the screen.
5.
Threshold the image by sliding the
Window
slide bar to the left until it reads 0 and sliding the
Level
slide bar until the edges of the ball appears with the maximum amount of square edges.
6.
Zoom in on the outer left most side of the ball.
