Troubleshooting
4.1 General (Display Unit)
Trouble
Cause
Treatment
Monitor is not starting
1. On/Stby key pressed too long.
2. The batteries are empty.
3. If power cord connected, AC/DC power
unit may be faulty.
4. If AC/DC power unit is working, the
PMB board in the Frame Unit may be
faulty.
5. On/Stby key may be faulty.
1. On/Stby key may be pressed less
than 10 s.
2. Connect the power cord.
3. Exchange the AC/DC power unit.
4. Exchange the PMB board.
5. Exchange the DU side panel
keyboard foil.
Monitor is not starting, the Frame
Unit back panel led is lit.
1. The connection between Frame Unit
and Display Unit may be faulty.
2. Display Unit voltages are not OK.
3. Faulty Central Processing Board.
1. Check the connector and the cables
between Display Unit and Frame Unit.
2. Replace the Display Unit DC/DC
power board.
3. Replace the Central Processing
Board.
The monitor starts (Frame Unit back
panel led is lit and a beep is heard),
but the display remains black.
1. The LCD display cables are loose.
2. The backlights are not lit.
1. Check the LCD cables and
connectors on the Central Processing
Board and in the Front Unit.
2. Connector Board cable may be loose.
Check the cable.
Backlights may be faulty. Exchange
them.
Backlight Inverter may be faulty.
Exchange the Inverter.
Module data disappears from the
screen.
Parameter module current (in PMB) too
high.
Detach and change the parameter
module.
PMB module power section may be
faulty. Exchange the PMB.
‘Battery failure’ message on the
display.
1. Problem in communication between
Display Unit and Frame Unit (in Service
View PMB serial number and other data
faulty)
2. PMB in Frame Unit may be faulty
1. Check the connectors and cables
between Display Unit and Frame Unit.
2. Exchange the PMB.
Recorder is not working properly.
1. Recorder communication problem.
2. Problem in voltages in Frame Unit.
1. Check the connectors and cables
between Display Unit and Frame Unit.
2. Check the Frame Unit voltages from
the service menu. If not OK, replace the
PMB board.
Keyboard not working, but module
communication is OK.
Keyboard cables and connectors, or
Connector Board cable and connector)
may be faulty.
Check the Connector Board cable and
connector.
Check the keyboard cable connection
to the connector board.
Keyboard not working, and module
communication not working.
UPI section of the Central Processing Unit
not functioning normally.
Restart the monitor.
Replace the Central Processing Board.
