Stand-by LED
Connect the power cord.
Check that the standby LED starts blinking or is on continuously, if the batteries do not
need charging.

10. Start-up
Switch the monitor on.
Check that the monitor starts up properly, i.e. the alarm LEDs turn blank, the start-up
sound is heard from the loudspeaker and the normal monitoring screen appears.
No error messages should appear on the screen.
If the monitor contains the recorder unit, two lines of start-up information should be
recorded.

Configure the monitor screen so that all the needed parameter information is shown:

Check that the selected parameter information is shown on the screen.
NOTE: InvBP waveforms are not shown without a patient simulator. Do no connect the
simulator to the monitor at this stage.
