If the function is not monitored. this is indicated by a “No” in the “Active” column and the
“N/A” value is associated with that RI.
The RI is first calculated per pole and then then the Total RI for that function is calculated as
the worst of the 3 poles. If there is only one motor or one SF6 gas tank, then the other “per
pole” RI will show “N/A”.
An overall Circuit breaker Risk Index

is also displayed, it reflects the overall state of
the CB and is based on the worst of the individual monitored functions RI.

Risk Index display
Risk indexes are derived from the CB nameplate values, common sense and alarm
thresholds set by customers.
The risk evaluation takes into account the severity of the issue detected and the
consequences to the safe and reliable operation of the circuit breaker (see Figure 19
Whenever Maintenance on the CB is required, A red message will appear underneath the
overall CB Risk Index saying: “Condition Based Maintenance required on CB”.
