Run a method
Introduction
Running a method or phase on ÄKTA ready XL can be a largely automatic procedure.
User interaction can be mainly required in the preparation phase, which includes
connecting the column and the required containers, checking that all connections
are correctly assigned, and that flow kit type and volumes are correct. For further in-
formation on method creation, refer to the relevant control software documenta-
tion.
This section describes an example on how to start, monitor, end and evaluate a run
using UNICORN control software.
For other control softwares, refer to the software documentation to create similar
methods.

Start a run
Starting a run is done from UNICORN after first having checked that all inlets and
outlets are correctly assigned and that the volumes of inlet and outlet containers are
correct.
Make sure the installation switch is set to Run.
