Many different sizes/types of tubing can be connected to a chromatography
system. Tubing with a smaller inner diameter (i.d.) holds less delay volume and
will therefore generate less dilution of the protein peak. Narrow tubing, how-
ever, increases the system pressure, especially when running at high flow
rates. The tubing used should match the application needs.
