Product Summary
The siren combines speaker and piezo technology
that produces a high-volume, low-current siren. A
built-in tamper switch detects cover and/or siren
removal. Mounting hardware and a cover screw are
included.
Installation
Installation involves mounting, wiring, and testing.
Installation Guidelines
•
Mount siren where occupants can hear it. More
than one siren may be required to cover all areas.
•
Make sure wire run from control panel to siren has
correct number of conductors to provide for
desired functions. For example, to use all siren
functions (Steady, Warble, and Tamper), wire run
must have five conductors.
•
For control panels with only one siren output, use
siren terminal #1 (Steady).
•
When connecting siren Tamper to control panel
zone input, install correct end-of-line (EOL) resis-
tor (included with control panel) at siren terminals.
•
Figure 1 shows siren with cover removed.
Figure 1. Siren Components and Mounting Holes
Mounting
1. Select location for siren.
2. Run appropriate conductor wire from control panel
to siren location.
3. Remove cover from siren.
4. Hold siren on wall at mounting location and mark
desired mounting holes. If using wall tamper fea-
ture, be sure to mark wall tamper mounting hole.
5. Install plastic anchors (included) where studs are
not present.
6. Insert wire through wire feed hole on siren.
7. Secure siren to wall with screws (included) at
marked locations.
Wiring
1. Connect positive (+) siren outputs from control
panel to siren terminals #1 (Steady) and #2 (War-
ble). For control panels with only one siren output,
use #1 (Steady) terminal.
2. Connect control panel ground (-) to GND siren ter-
minal.
3. Connect wiring from control panel zone input to
siren tamper terminals marked SW. Be sure to con-
nect EOL resistor in series with one of the termi-
nals.
4. Place cover on siren and secure on bottom using
small flat head cover screw (included).
Testing
Caution!
Contact central monitoring station before testing the siren.
Testing requires causing alarms to verify correct siren oper-
ation.
1. Contact central monitoring station and inform
them you are testing the system.
2. Activate intrusion and fire alarms to verify siren
operation.
3. Arm system and remove siren cover to verify
tamper circuit works.
4. Replace siren cover.
5. Contact central monitoring station when you are
finished testing.
