Cleaning and Maintaining the Electrodes and Sponges
After each treatment session, the sponges used need to be washed out. In addition, we recommend full
cleaning - on a daily basis - of all the electrodes and sponges that have been used during the day.
Cleaning the Sponges, Rubber Cover and Electrode:
•
Remove the sponges from the electrodes and disinfect them by using a commercial disinfecting agent.
Note that disinfecting the sponges may impair the sponges' conductivity. To improve/restore
conductivity, we recommend using a saline solution.
•
Remove the metal part simply by drawing off from the electrode.
•
Remove the rubber cover from the electrode.
•
Clean the metal part and the rubber cover by using lukewarm water to which a normal household
cleaning agent has been added.
•
As experience has shown, careful cleaning and maintenance of the sponges makes the treatment more
effective and also helps to extend the service life of the sponges. Dry sponges should be immersed in
lukewarm tap water for about 5 minutes prior to treatment. This will ensure that the sponges recover the
required elasticity and size.
