Meter exchange 

 

7.1 

Gas meter exchange 

 
To exchange a gas meter at a device that is in sleeping mode the following procedure should be followed: 
 

Before the gas meter is disconnected: 

1. 

Remove the cover of the gACC-499E/U 

2. 

Set switch 2 to ON 

3. 

Set switch 3 to ON 

4. 

Wait until all 4 LEDs are on, plus about 3 minutes. 

5. 

Now the data collection system can dial-in and the archive can be read until the last 
hour. 

6. 

With a config cable and the gACC-

499 Configuration program it’s possible to readout the 

archive locally. The procedure for this operation is describes in 

section 

2.15

 

Reading the archive (cache). 

 

The exchange of the gas meter: 

1. 

Set switches 1 and 2 to OFF 

2. 

Wait until all LEDs are turned off (This may take a while) 

3. 

Remove the connection of the gas meter 

4. 

Place the new gas meter 

5. 

Connect the new gas meter with the gACC-499E/U 

6. 

Set switch 1 to ON 

7. 

Set switch 2 to ON 

8. 

Wait until all 4 LEDs are on, plus about 3 minutes 

9. 

Now the data collection system can run a test whereby 

“billing data” and a clock 

synchronization can carried out. 

“load profile” data will not yet be available at this 

moment. 

 

7.2 

gAVC 1200 exchange 

 

Before the gAVC 1200 is disconnected: 

1. 

Remove the cover of the gACC-499E/U 

2. 

Set switch 2 to ON 

3. 

Set switch 3 to ON 

4. 

Wait until all 4 LEDs are on, plus about 3 minutes. 

5. 

Now the data collection system can dial-in and the archive can be read until the last 
hour.. 

 

The exchange of the gAVC 1200: 

1. 

Set switches 1 and 2 to OFF 

2. 

Wait until all LEDs are turned off (This may take a while) 

3. 

Remove the connection of the gAVC 1200 

4. 

Place the new gAVC 1200 

5. 

Connect the new gAVC 1200 with the gACC-499E/U 

6. 

Set switch 1 to ON 

7. 

Set switch 2 to ON 

8. 

Wait until all 4 LEDs are on, plus about 3 minutes 

9. 

Now the data collection system can 

run a test whereby “billing data” and a clock 

synchronization can carried out.  

“load profile” data will not yet be available at this 

moment unless the gAVC 1200 was already turned on. U

p to 2 days of “load profile” 

data will be  cached. This is a parameter in the config file.
