Configuring computer settings for an access point network

If you are unable to connect to an access point router in the 

Available 

networks

 list, the most likely cause is that the access point router is using 

WEP security. You need to configure your network settings to use the 
same WEP security settings as those used by the access point router.

To configure computer settings for an access point wireless network:

With the Connect to Wireless Network dialog box open, click the 
network you want to configure your computer for, then click 

Advanced

. The Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog box 

opens.
