Skip, search, and step/pause
buttons Skip back ( ). Skips back one CD track, DVD chapter,
or MP3 file. For more information, see “Skipping a
chapter, track, or file” on page 35 .
Note: if you press the skip back button after the track,
chapter, or file playback has reached the half-way
point, the skip back button skips to the beginning of
the current track, chapter, or file. Press the button a
second time to skip back to the previous track,
chapter, or file.
Skip ahead ( ). Skips ahead one CD track, DVD
chapter, or MP3 file. For more information, see “Skipping
a chapter, track, or file” on page 35 .
Search back ( ). Plays the CD, DVD, or MP3 disc
backward quickly or plays the DVD disc backward in
slow motion. For more information, see
“Speeding up
disc playback” on page 36 and “Slowing down DVD
playback” on page 36 .
Search ahead ( ). Plays the CD, DVD, or MP3 disc
forward quickly or plays the DVD disc forward in slow
motion. For more information, see
“Speeding up disc
playback” on page 36 and “Slowing down DVD playback”
on page 36 .
Step/Pause ( ). Pauses play. If you are playing a DVD,
you can push this button to advance the video by one
frame. For more information, see
“Pausing a disc” on
