Gates GC20 Cortex

HOSE PREPARATION

CAUTION:

You must use a new hose and end fittings (stem/ferrule) when

building a hose assembly. Re-using any component will seriously affect

performance and could result in serious injury or property damage.

TWO-PIECE COUPLINGS

Cut hose to desired length.

Obtain the correct stem and ferrule.

Place the ferrule over the end of the hose, as shown in Figure 34.

Stem shown clamped in a vise.

Lubricate the first 2 or 3 serrations on stem with lightweight oil (SAE 10W).

Clamp stem in a vise on its hex portion (Figure 34), and push hose onto stem.

Hose should be flush against stem shoulder, as shown in Figure 35.
