The master charging station unit is the bridge between
the mesh Wi-Fi and the ethernet cable. It is not possible
to switch between Wi-Fi and ethernet without assigning
a charging station as a master unit. Each internet
connection type must be set up through a master unit.
NOTE
If DLM is used, all charging stations must be on the same
network.
NOTE
Number of units in a connection group is limited to 32.
If more units are needed, then subgroups needs to be
used.
4.10.2 SIMPLE SETUP SCENARIOS
The connection type between the master charging
station (A) and the other CS (B, C, D) in the same
installation depends on distance and radio obstacles.
The following scenarios are some common setups when
you have several charging stations.
Scenario 1 : If the distance (X) between the charging
stations is short and there are no radio obstacles, it is
possible to use a mesh Wi-Fi connection between the
master charging station (A), and the other charging
stations (B and C). (However, it is always preferable to
use an ethernet cable, if suitable.)
Scenario 2 : If the distance between the master charging
station (A) and the charging stations (C) are long or
there are thick walls or other radio obstacles, an
ethernet cable (E) must be used. If there are several
charging stations (D) behind the obstacle, they should
all be connected to charging stations (C) with an
ethernet cable regardless of the distance.
4.10.3 ADVANCED SETUP SCENARIOS
In the following scenario the installer wants to switch
from mesh Wi-Fi to ethernet cable, and switch from
ethernet cable to mesh Wi-Fi. This requires assigning
additional master units and grouping the charging
stations.
