WaRNING:
Do not operate the weather radar in a transmitting mode when personnel
or objects are within the MPEL boundary.
WaRNING:
Do not assume weather radar transmission is disabled unless all display
panes displaying weather radar are set to Standby Mode, and are displaying ‘STANDBY’
in the center of each weather radar display.
CaUTIoN:
In Standby mode, the antenna is parked at the center line. It is always a
good idea to ensure the radar is in Standby mode before taxiing the aircraft to prevent
the antenna from bouncing on the bottom stop and possibly causing damage to the
radar assembly.

1)
Select the 'Map - Weather Radar' Page in the Map Page Group with the
FMS
Knob.
2)
Select the
Mode
Softkey.
3)
While on the ground, select the
Standby
Softkey.

Select the
Weather
Softkey. A confirmation window is displayed.
b)
Turn the small
FMS
Knob to highlight '
Yes'
and press the
ENT
Key to continue radar
activation.

If the aircraft is airborne, select the
Weather
Softkey. The radar begins transmitting.

Turn the
Joystick
to select the desired map range.

The horizontal scan is initially displayed. If desired, select the
Vertical
Softkey to change
to vertical scanning.
