If you selected
Nearest
or
Farthest
in step 8, review the placement of the
Auto Guidance
line, and determine whether the line safely avoids known
obstacles and the turns enable efficient travel.
Auto Guidance maintains a wide clearance from obstacles in open water,
even if you set the Shoreline Distance setting to Near or Nearest. As a
result, the AQUAMAP may not reposition the Auto Guidance line, unless
the destination selected requires navigation through a narrow waterway.

Repeat steps 3 through 9 at least once more, using a different destination
each time, until you are familiar with the functionality of the Shoreline
Distance setting.
Boundaries
Boundaries allow you to avoid or remain in designated areas in a body of
water. You can set an alarm to alert you when you enter or exit a boundary.
You can create boundary areas, lines, and circles using the map. You can
also convert saved tracks and routes into boundary lines. You can create a
boundary area using waypoints by creating a route from the waypoints, and
converting the route into a boundary line.
You can select a boundary to act as the active boundary. You can add the
active boundary data to the data fields on the chart.
