5. Push on cover of watering controller and the expansion module.
The master channel is a channel that can be operated at the same
time as other channels. This is important, for example, if you want
to use a pump to supply your irrigation system with water and if
the pump should always be activated each time an irrigation valve
is activated.
The pump can be operated, for example, using the GARDENA
Pump Control Art. 1273 that is connected to the master channel.
1. Label the valves so that they
can be easily assigned to
the channels.
2. Using a cable clip connect
one cable of the first valve
to the cable of the Watering
Controller connected to
terminal 1.
3. Connect all other valves to
the Watering Controller with one cable in the same way as the
first valve.
4. Using a cable clip, connect the second cable of each valve
to the cable of the Watering Controller connected to terminal C.
Cable cross-section of the connection cable :
The maximum permissible distance between the Watering
Controller and the valve depends on the cross-section of the
connection cable. For a distance of 30 m, the cross section is
0.5 mm

and 0.75 mm

for a distance of 45 m. No more than
3 valves must be in operation at the same time.
The GARDENA connection cable Art. 1280 is 0.5 mm
2
in size
and is 15 m long.

Hold the drilling template supplied against the wall and mark
the holes with a pen.
1. Screw the mounting plate

for the watering controller (and,
if applicable, the mountings for the expansion modules) to
the wall.
2. Hook the watering controller (with expansion module, if applica-
ble) from above into the mounting plate

so that its back is
against the mounting plate (and into the mountings for the
expansion modules if applicable).
