Flow Path Overlays
The Spectra system has three flow path overlays that name each
component on the front panel. They help you correctly install the
disposable tubing sets:
Collect flow path overlay
: Use for collection and depletion procedures.
TPE flow path overlay
: Use for TPE procedures.
RBCX flow path overlay
: Use for RBCX procedures.
Other Components
Packaging hook
: Holds the disposable tubing set tray in place on the
centrifuge cover for convenient installation of the tubing on the front
panel.
Control Panel
The contol panel has both a keyboard and a display (see Figure 2-3). The
keys are organized into the following three major functional areas on the
keyboard:
•
Numeric keypad located in the upper right-hand corner
•
Display keys that surround the display (12 keys: 6 above the display
and 6 below)
•
Miscellaneous keys located on the bottom row and left-hand side
The Spectra system beeps when a key is pressed. For detailed
information on using the keyboard, see Chapter 5, “Software Options
and Configuration.”
Keypad
Numerical keys
: Use the keys numbered 0 through 9 to enter numeric
information and make menu selections.
Decimal point key
: Press the decimal point key to enter a decimal point.
Up-arrow/down-arrow keys
Use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to make incremental changes to
the displayed numeric value. To make a small change to the numeric
value (1 to10 units), press and quickly release an arrow key. To make a
larger change (10 to 100 units), press and hold down an arrow key. The
value changes until you release the key.
Also use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to move the location of the
strobe flash on the separation channel. To move the location of the flash
to the right, press the up arrow. To move the location to the left, press
the down arrow .

key
The text refers to the
CLEAR NO
key as either
CLEAR
or
NO
,
depending on the context or the message on the display.
•
Numeric entry
: Press
CLEAR NO
when using the numerical keys
to clear the entered numbers or restore the original displayed value.
•
YES/NO answers
: Press
CLEAR NO
to indicate a “NO” answer. A
screen may appear that allows you to change the information.
•
Menu selection
:

First level menu screen: Press
CLEAR NO
to exit the menu
system.
•
Second level and higher menu screens: Press
CLEAR NO
to
return to the previous menu screen.
•
Screen display
: Press
CLEAR NO
to display the screens ranked
below the current highest-priority screen.
