Cycle
The arrow keys (located below the CYCLE LED) are used to select each cycle,
allowing parameters (TIME, R.C.O., STOP SELECT, and VALVE SELECT) to be
programmed, viewed, or modified. Up to seven cycles can be programmed for each
protocol. During processing in the Automatic mode, the cycle display indicates
which cycle the COBE 2991 is currently executing.
Spin Timer
The Spin Timer is used to control the duration of the Start/Spin operation for each
cycle. The spin time is set by pressing the corresponding arrow keys (located below
the TIME LED). The time range is from 00.0 to 99.9 minutes. The minimum
increment of the Spin Timer is 0.1 (1/10) of a minute, or six seconds.
Note:
During processing in the Automatic mode, elapsed spin time can be displayed by
pressing and holding the ELAPSED TIME key. Remaining spin time is displayed
again when the key is released. The remaining time can be increased or decreased
during the spin time countdown. When a spin operation is completed, the display
shows the total time elapsed during that Start/Spin operation.
R.C.O.
Select the R.C.O. (red cell override) option for a particular cycle by pressing the
R.C.O. key.
RCO is the delay interval between the time that RBCs are detected by the RCD
and the time the Supernatant-Out operation is halted. The RCO option is used to
discard a volume of unwanted RBCs following cell detection based on the SUPER
OUT RATE and RCO timer setting. See “RED CELL OVERRIDE (in Seconds)”
on page 3-11 for information on the RCO timer.
