EPCU bypass can ONLY be enabled once the analyzer has been successfully
powered on following the procedure in Section 3.2. It CANNOT be enabled prior to
performing the initial cabinet purging process, so if instrument air is not available
when the analyzer is not powered on, the analyzer cannot be powered up.
The following conditions MUST be adhered to prior to enabling EPCU bypass:
1. System Bypass must NOT be enabled unless explicitly permitted by company
and/or regulatory agency safety procedures.
2. System Bypass must NOT be enabled unless the installation environment
around the analyzer is known to be safe (i.e. non-explosive)
3. The user MUST follow ALL facility and regulatory agency procedures for
determining if the installation environment around the analyzer is safe.
4. The analyzer must NOT be operated with System Bypass enabled unless
qualified personnel are continuously in attendance AND the installation
environment around the analyzer continuously monitored to ensure that it
remains safe.
5. Should the installation environment suddenly become hazardous (explosive)
while System Bypass is enabled, the AC supply to the analyzer MUST
IMMEDIATELY be switched off OR System Bypass IMMEDIATELY disabled.
3.3.1 Enable EPCU Bypass
Once the installation environment has been determined to be safe (non-explosive), the
EPCU Bypass
may be enabled by following the procedure below.
1. Using the keypad on the front panel of the EPCU, press SETUP.
2. Enter the
Setup
password
(↓ ← ↑
←)
and press START / SET. BYPASS CONTROL
will then be displayed.
3. Press START / SET. Enter the
Bypass
password (↑ → ↓ →) then press START / SET
again. If the password was entered correctly, BYPASS ENABLE and BYPASS ON will
be displayed on the EPCU screen.
4. Using the arrow keys, select BYPASS ENABLE, then press START/SET.
5. Using the arrow keys, select YES, then press START/SET. SETTING CORRECT Y/N
will be displayed.
6. Using the arrow keys, select Y and press START/SET. BYPASS ENABLE and
BYPASS ON will again be displayed.
7. Using the arrow keys, select Y and press START/SET. The SYSTEM BYPASS LED
above the EPCU display will illuminate in yellow indicating that the EPCU is now
bypassed.
Once the SYSTEM BYPASS indicator starts flashing yellow, the EPCU system has been
successfully bypassed. The control cabinet door can now be opened without causing an
automatic shut down. When the cabinet door is opened, the ALARM / FAULT indicator will
flash red and the SAFE PRESSURE indicator will turn off. The ENCLOSURE POWER
indicator will remain illuminated in green.
