Functional ground
As the elmeg M 1 POTS module is equipped with a functional ground connection, there should be a »ground line« (water line, heating sys-
tem line or grounding circuit connection for the building wiring system) near the installation location of the module. This connection is re-
quired for use of the module POTS. The connection to the PABX must be made with a connecting lead of at least 2.5 mm

. The function
grounding connection can be plugged in to the module. Both functional ground connections are connected together.
If you use terminal devices that are linked with the PABX system via USB or RS232, you must install the functional
grounding, as otherwise »hum loops« may be produced.

Connection to the PABX system is made using the ribbon cable provided with the system. The two analog subscribers are connected at jacks
