Frequently Asked Questions
There are interferences between other devices in the 2.4 GHz band and my
wireless LAN. What can I do?
•
Adapt the channels on your other devices or your ComPoint. Find
out which channels are used by the other devices. If possible, config-
ure your ComPoint and possibly the other devices in a way that the
channel separation is as high as possible (e.g. channel 1 and channel
13). In any case, refrain from choosing a channel separation of less
than 6 (e.g. 1, 6). Should you not be able to find a free channel with
these features, configure your ComPoint to a channel used by another
WLAN device. This will mean less interferences for both systems than
a channel separation of less than 6 channels.
•
Change the location where the ComPoint or the other devices are
mounted.
•
Change the position of your antenna from vertical to horizontal.
How can I increase the range of my wireless network?
•
You can increase the range by cascading several ComPoints in the AP
and AC mode as described in
Section Extension of the Range,
.
•
You can use optical antennas, which you will find in the artem prod-
uct portfolio, to optimize the transmission capacity and the radiation
characteristics.
Can the ComPoint work as DHCP server?
No. In principle, the ComPoint is a wireless hub. It cannot take
over DHCP server functions.
Can I execute programs on other computers via a wireless network?
This depends on the fact whether your application is designed to
work over a network. In principle, a wireless network does not dif-
fer from a wired network. Consult the software manufacturer of
your application.
