External SCSI interface

If the internal hard disks are connected via a PCI RAID controller, one channel
of the on-board controller can also be made available for connecting a periphe-
ral cabinet SX10 via an external SCSI interface.

Remove the rear cover of PCI slot 7 and insert the slot cover of the external
SCSI interface in this slot as described in
section “PCI slot assembly” on
Ê
Attach the external SCSI interface’s connector to the SCSI channel of the
onboard SCSI controller on the system board (connector SCSI U320).
Ê
Close the server, connect it to the power outlet, and switch it on as described
in the
chapter “Completion” on page 67
et seqq..
