The HDD backplane is mounted on the HDD cage. It is not necessary to
remove the HDD cage before installing or removing the HDD backplane.

Connecting the second HDD backplane to a controller
Ê
Connect the straight connector of the second SAS cable as follows:
– If SATA OnBoard HDD system: If available to the system board
connector "SATA 0-3".
– If the first backplane is an HDD backplane: to the connector "MLC2" on
the controller.
– If the first backplane is a PCIe backplane: to the connector "MLC1" on
the controller.
