Processors
This section provides information on how to replace the processor and
processor heat sink.

Do not install unsupported processors. For further information on
supported processors, refer to section
"Basic information" on
page 224

Circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed and
can be damaged by static electricity. Always discharge static build-up
(e.g. by touching a grounded object) before handling electrostatic-
sensitive devices (ESDs)
●
Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold circuit
boards by their metallic areas or edges.
●
When removing or installing the processor, be careful not to touch or
bend the spring contacts on the processor socket.
●
Never touch the underside of the processor. Even minor soiling such
as grease from the skin can impair the processor’s operation or
destroy the processor.
