System Display
In the alphanumeric system display the following messages are shown:
–
System Information
–
Hardware system errors
Depending on the system status the display mode change automatically when
the menu toggle switch is pressed to the left or on the right.
The menu toggle switch is inoperative during the start-up phase (if the server
has been previously disconnected from the mains, wait at least 60 seconds
before switching it ON again). If no errors occur during operation, the system
display switches to the system information mode. The system information mode
is the normal display mode. If errors occur during operation, the system display
automatically switches to the system error mode and remains in this mode until
the display mode is changed with the menu toggle switch.
System Information Mode
During normal operation the system display is in the system information mode.
The information to be displayed in this mode can be freely selected by the
administrator. It should be used to clearly identify the system.
The entered information is not evaluated in any way by the system, i. e. there
are no dependencies on actual system settings such as the IP addresses or
server name in the network. Two lines of information are displayed. To display
the next two entries, press the menu toggle switch briefly.
16 entries with maximum of 16 characters can be made. The first entry should
contain the server name how it is used in the network.
However, this is not mandatory. As long as no information is entered, the
message
please configure system info
appears in the system display.
The
SCU
tool, which you can find on the
ServerStart
-CD under the menu item
Tools
, is used to enter the information. The system information is not lost when
the system is rebooted.
