Adding/Removing a Server Blade to/from the System

The Server Blade

CAUTION!

Be sure that both power supply units are inserted and functional,
before you remove the front fan module!

CAUTION!

The system can continue operating without the front fan module.

The front fan module must be replaced within a reasonable amount of
time (max. 1 minute).

Removing the Dummy Module

All unoccupied slots in the Blade Server System are fitted with dummy modules
to ensure that the electromagnetic emission properties of the system are
observed and that the system components are properly cooled.

If you wish to add a server blade, you must first remove the dummy module from
the corresponding slot.

Release the locking mechanism by pressing (1) the locking button (a). The
ejecting handle (green) of the dummy module will be disengaged.

Swing up the handle (2) until the locking mechanism of the dummy module
disengages.
