System Management Console (SMC)
The main unit is connected to the SMC. The functions of the SMC are:

Monitoring the hardware status of the main unit process
Detected faults are indicated on the SMC display. The detected faults are reported
to the system administrator in real time and to the Fujitsu support center via the
remote notification program.

Recognizing and displaying configuration information, and setting partitions
Various partition settings can be specified using the “Machine Administration
Menu” of the system console software on the SMC.
l
Displaying a console screen for each partition
l
Automatic power control
By configuring the main unit’s power-on/off schedules, the main unit can be turned
on or off automatically.
l
Time synchronization (NTP: Network Time Protocol server feature)
By using NTP, the SMC synchronizes the time of each partition to the time in the
SMC.
l
Displaying guidance during maintenance of the main unit and collecting
maintenance inspection information
Information to help guide maintenance can be displayed through the “Machine
Administration Menu” of the system console software on the SMC. The SMC
collects log information about main unit activities, which can be used for
reference.
