CHAPTER 5 Internal I/O Units

 

5.2.4

Inserting a CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc

1

With the main unit's POWER LED lit, verify that the BUSY LED on the front 
panel of the DVD-ROM drive is out.

2

Open the I/O cover at the front of the main unit.

3

Excute the Solaris Operating Environment eject command, or press the Eject 
button. 

The tray of the DVD-ROM drive comes out.

4

Place the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc on the tray.

5

Press the Eject button a second time.

The tray goes in, and the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc is mounted in the drive.

Ejecting a CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc

1

If the system is running, verify that the disk is not in use by a user or a 

program. If the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc is in use, the user process should 
be stopped before ejecting the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc.

Open the I/O cover at the front of the main unit.

3

Execute the Solaris Operating Environment eject command, or execute the 

“Eject disk” function of the Volume Manager.

The tray is ejected.

4

Remove the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM disc, then press the Eject button.

The tray goes in.
