Uploading SES Controller Card Firmware
The following information describes the procedures to upload new firmware to
the SES Controller card. The preferred method is to take the enclosure off-line
first, then perform the upgrade. This prevents bus reset errors.
1
Connect one end of the null-modem RS-232 cable to the RS-232 Service port
located on the SES Controller card.
Connecting the RS-232 Cable
NOTE:
The cable is a female-to-female DB-9 null-modem serial cable. Refer
to “Null-Modem Cable Specifications” on page 159 for cable
specifications.
2
Connect the other end of the cable to either a host system’s RS-232 serial
communication port or a VT-100 type terminal.
3
On the host system, run a terminal emulation program or start the VT-100
terminal.
4
Verify the communication parameters are as follows:
•
9600 Baud
•
8 Data bits
•
1 Stop bit
•
None (parity)
•
Flow Control Off
5
At the cursor, type <Control-E>.
