Barcode Reader
The barcode reader provides inventory feedback to the host application and/or LCD screen by reading the
cartridge barcode labels. The library stores the customized inventory data in memory.
3.3.7
Activating the Autoclean Function
The autoclean function is disabled by factory default.
After enabling autoclean, the autoclean process automatically starts when a cartridge is unloaded from the
tape drive that reports "cleaning requested". For cleaning the drive the library can use every previously in an
inventory identified cleaning cartridge. A cleaning cartridge must have a "CLN" barcode label to work with the
autoclean function.
To activate the autoclean function:

Depending on the backup application used on your host, you can decide if this software should manage the
cleaning of the library’s tape drive or if it will be cleaned by activating the autoclean function.
