9.1.1 Remote Copy Operations for the Storage System (Copies Between ETERNUS DX
storage systems)

Solution Overview
The ETERNUS DX can perform real time data transfers from the operation site to a remote site. Even if an
error occurs in the operation site, operations can continue by switching operation from the operation site to
the backup site. Data transfers to a remote site occur only between storage systems, not through servers,
which reduces the load on the server.
Support for multiple transfer methods also enables flexible backup systems to be configured according to the
operation environment.

Configuration Procedure
Configure the system to perform Remote Advanced Copying (REC) by using ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Man-
ager (ACM).
Operations are performed from the business server as an ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager agent and
from the operation management server as an ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager manager.
