Removing and installing a 3 ½ inch drive (e.g.  
MultiCard reader)

A carrier is needed to install a 3½  inch drive in a 5 ¼ inch bay. When this carrier is used, 
the 3½ inch drive can be installed in the 5¼ inch bay instead of the Weight Saver or a 5¼ 
inch drive. 

Removing an accessible 3½ inch drive

Remove the carrier with the 3½ inch drive in the same way as an accessible 5¼ inch drive (see 
"Installing an accessible 5¼ inch drive"). When you do so, make sure to re-install the Weight 
Saver if you do not install a new drive.

Remove the screws (1) on both sides of the carrier. 

►

 

Pull the 3½ inch drive out of the carrier (2).
