Notes on installing expansion cards
• Use the installable expansion cards only.
• Before installing an expansion card, refer to the manual supplied with the card and read the related
notes. Further, read the following notes for each expansion card.

BIOS settings
On this server, the expansion ROM settings for PCI slot 1 through 3, 5, and 6 are disabled. When you
configure the settings for expansion cards to be installed, temporarily change the expansion ROM to
"Enabled" in BIOS Setup Utility. Follow the procedure below to change the settings.

Enable the expansion ROM of the slot in which the target expansion card is
installed.
1. Start up BIOS Setup Utility.
2. Select the [Advanced] menu – the [PCI Configuration] submenu, and press the
[Enter] key.

3. Change [Slot n Option ROM Scan] ("n" indicates the slot number) from "Disabled"
to "Enabled".

Press the [F10] key, save the settings, and then exit BIOS Setup Utility.

Configure settings for expansion cards during POST at the next boot.

After the settings for expansion cards complete, start up BIOS Setup Utility
again, and reset the settings changed in Step 1.

Turn off the server and connected devices, and unplug all power cables from
the outlet.

Remove the top cover.

Touch a metal part of the server to discharge static electricity.
