5. Periodic Maintenance
In order to keep the FDC NX10N performance at its best, perform the daily/periodic maintenance by users.
WARNING:
When performing maintenance (cleaning the analyzer), always follow biohazard procedures (e.g., wear-
ing gloves, lab coat, and safety goggles).
If any part of the body comes in contact with contaminated parts or swabs, immediately rinse the con-
taminated body part thoroughly under running water and then use ethyl alcohol as a disinfectant. Seek
medical assistance if necessary.
Do not touch the photometer and the upper heater while the power is on. Always turn off the analyzer
and make sure that they are completely cooled down before cleaning them. Otherwise, this may result
in burn injury.
Before cleaning the analyzer, always be sure to unplug the AC power cable, the USB cable and the like.
As contaminated swabs or cloths used for cleaning the analyzer are infectious waste, process the waste
correctly in compliance with any applicable regulations in your country, such as by incineration, melting,
sterilization or disinfection.
CAUTION:
Users must perform cleaning and maintenance after having training conducted by our designated deal-
er.
Clean the analyzer using ethyl alcohol for disinfection or 0.5% of sodium hypochlorite disinfectant.
Do not put ethyl alcohol for disinfection or 0.5% of sodium hypochlorite disinfectant directly on the ana-
lyzer. Otherwise, this may result in the failure of the analyzer.
IMPORTANT:
After cleaning the analyzer, restore the connection of the AC power cable, the USB cable and the like
and be sure to check the operation of the analyzer by turning on the power switch.
After cleaning the photometer, close the transfer frame and the pipette cover. Otherwise, the failure of
the test may result.
If you do not perform the periodic maintenance in the manual, the analyzer’s performance and specifi-
cations will not be maintained, so that adverse effects on test results may occur.
Be sure to reassemble the parts and the like removed for maintenance. Otherwise, adverse effects on
test results may occur.
NOTE:
When cleaning the outer covers of the analyzer, wipe those using soft cloth moistened with water or ethyl al-
cohol for disinfection.
