[5-6-1] Shading/Sensitivity Correction

Function
Used when concurrently performing shading correction and sensitivity correction.
Shading correction and sensitivity correction can be done only for IP types ST and ST-
BD.
The machine automatically distinguishes the inserted cassette and the IP for
processing.
When sensitivity correction of the IP type ST is performed, sensitivity correction data
for the IP type HR will be automatically calculated using the correction results.

NOTE
u
Correction can be performed with IPs irradiated by the tungsten X-ray tube. If
irradiated by the molybdenum X-ray tube, correction will not end normally because it
suffers from tube-to-tube variability.

INSTRUCTION
u
IP reading should be done for a one-minute period from 10 to 11 minutes after the
X-ray irradiation.
REFERENCE
The indications for the S value are as follows according to the irradiation output.
For 0.1 mR: The S value is 2000.
For 1 mR: The S value is 200.
1For 10 mR: The S value is 20.

Function
As the subscanning motor speed differs depending on the reading mode, shading
correction can be performed for each of the speeds.
IP type ST:
Shading speed correction of SR, FR and GR can be done.
Individual correction should be done for FR and GR, as the speed differs from that of
the SR.
The correction of the SR is done during the previous shading/sensitivity correction.
Other IP types:
Only the shading correction can be done.

NOTES
u
- Unless shading correction is performed for each of reading mode speeds, unusual
nonuniformity will occur when the IP is read at the speed at which shading correction
is not performed.
- Correction should be performed with the IP irradiated by the tungsten X-ray tube.
REFERENCE
Depending on the IP types and reading modes, film output and screen display may
differ after correction.
