Important •
If you use unsuitable paper for the media setting you specified or inappropriate paper is set
in the media source, it may result in paper jams. Select the correct media size, type, and the
media source to print appropriately.
Note
•
G.S.M. is the measure of the substance of paper expressed in grams per square meter,
which does not depend on the number of sheets in the ream.
•
The Media weight is the Weight type set with Media/Settings.

Handling and Storing Media
Handling Media
Do not use media that has been folded, creased, or heavily curled. It may result in
paper jams.
Storing Media
The optimum environment for storing media is a place where the humidity is 40 to 45%.
Keep the following points in mind when storing media.
z
Moisture is not good for media. For storage, keep the media in the document
wrapping and store it in a comparatively dry place. Vellum especially should be put
into a plastic or moisture-proof bag.
z
When the machine is not used for extended intervals, remove the media and store it
accordingly.
