Configuring the Windows Printer Port for a Network
Printer
If the “FRITZ!Box” entry is already listed in the “Programs”
group of the start menu of the computer, this means that
the printer port is already configured on this computer.
Otherwise, work through the instructions below to config-
ure the printer port.
Complete the steps below to set up the printer port in a
32-bit Windows operating system:
1.
Insert the FRITZ!Box CD in the computer’s CD_ROM
drive.
The Installation Help opens.
2.
Click the “View CD Contents” button.
3.
Click the “Create Start Menu Entry” button.
The printer port designated “AVM: (FRITZ!Box USB
Printer Port)” will be configured.
Now you can install the printer drivers of the printer con-
nected to FRITZ!Box for this printer port.
Installing Printer Drivers in Windows 7
1.
Click the “Start” button in the task bar and select
“Devices and Printers”.
2.
Click “Add a printer”.
3.
Select “Add a local printer”.
You must make this selection because the printer
port on the computer functions as a local port.
Note that this manual describes only how to configure
and install the printer port in the 32-bit versions of the
Windows operating systems.
If you use a 64-bit Windows operating system on your
computer, please proceed according to the corresponding
instructions on the AVM web site
.
