1.3  Brief Description of the Instrument  

1.3.1 Applications 

The cutting mill can be used for rapid comminution of soft to medium-
hard and fibrous materials.

1.3.2  Method of Operation 

 

Material to be cut is fed from a hopper 
into the cutting chamber by means of 
a pusher. Here, four rotating blades 
work against three fixed blades to 
chop up the sample. The bottom of the 
cutting chamber is closed by a sieve 
insert. Comminuted material passes 
through the sieve and is collected in a 
pot.
