SECTION 4 - COMPONENT TEAR DOWN
Wash Plate (all models)
The wash plate at the bottom of the spin tub is held in place
by fi ve bolts around the trunion.
To remove the wash plate:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source, lift the
washer lid, and remove the wash plate cap.
2. Unbolt all fi ve spin tub bolts around the trunion with a
1/2-inch socket and ratchet.
Spin Tub (all models)
The spin tub is held in place by fi ve bolts through the wash
plate around the trunion. On some models with the large
trunion, there are six more bolts (under the wash plate)
attaching the spin tub to the trunion.
To remove the spin tub:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, top panel, splash tub cover, wash plate
cap and wash plate.
2. On models with small trunion, the spin tub will be loose
when the wash plate is removed. On models with the large
trunion, there are an additional six bolts around the base of
the spin tub to remove with a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet.
Standard Trunion (some models)
The standard trunion is bolted directly to the drive shaft with
a single bolt.
To remove the standard trunion:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, top panel, splash tub cover, wash plate
cap, wash plate and spin tub.
2. Remove shaft bolt with a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet and
pull the trunion up with the use of a two-prong gear puller.
Mark trunion and shaft for orientation to ease reinstallation.
Large Trunion (some models)
The large trunion is bolted directly to the drive shaft with a
single bolt.
To remove the large trunion:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, top panel, splash tub cover, wash plate
cap, wash plate and spin tub.
2. Remove shaft bolt with a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet and
pull the trunion up with the use of a two-prong gear puller.
Mark trunion and shaft for orientation to ease reinstallation.

IMPORTANT
When reinstalling the wash plate onto a large trunion, line
up the indicating arrow of the wash plate to the indicating
line of the large trunion.
