MSG key is pressed repeatedly to view all new messages. Messages remaining
in the queue after being read will be indicated by a steady MSG annunciator.
4.
WPT
(Amber) This annunciator will light whenever waypoint arrival is
imminent. The WPT light will illuminate with the lead time set in AUX,
CONFIGURE mode. For intermediate waypoints within a flight plan, the WPT
light will extinguish when the track change is complete. For a single/last
waypoint flight plan the WPT light will extinguish beyond the waypoint at the
time set in AUX, CONFIGURE mode.
5.
HLD
(Green) The HLD annunciator illuminates to alert the pilot that the
active flight plan is currently in hold (plan suspended at the current active TO
waypoint). The HLD mode can be manually selected by the pilot or will
automatically function in the approach operation. The HLD mode operation can
only be released by the pilot.
6.
APR
(Green) The approach annunciator alerts the pilot that the approach
mode is active (approach RAIM is available), the aircraft is located on the final
approach leg (annunciator illuminates at 2 NM inbound to the Final Approach
Fix (FAF)), and the aircraft track is within 70 degrees of the inbound course.
Two annunciators, located below the 2101 I/O Approach Plus RDU on the center instrument
panel, and controlled by the NAV/GPS switch, indicate whether the GPS roll steering signal
(GPS HDG) or the HSI heading error signal (MAN HDG) is interfaced to the autopilot HDG
mode:
1.
GPS HDG
(Green)
This annunciator is not operative.
2.
MAN HDG
. (White) This annunciator is not operative.
C. SYSTEM
SWITCHES:
Two switches, located on the GPS switch/annunciator unit Captain’s instrument panel, performs
the following functions;
1.
The
NAV/GPS
switch is used to select between VHF NAV and GPS data for
display on the pilot’s HSI. This is a push button switch which is activated by
depressing the face of the switch. Either NAV or GPS will illuminate to alert the
pilot as to the position of the switching unit. This switch also controls whether
the Heading Bug or the GPS roll steering is connected to the Heading Mode of
the autopilot.
2.
The lamp test switch is part of the MSG/WPT/HLD/APR annunciator and is
used as a “press to test” switch for the GPS system annunciators.
