13. Replacing the Coiled-strip Spring
Warning!
• Before opening the device, completely disconnect it from the mains supply.
Failure to observe can result in injury or even death due to electric shock.
• Wear safety gloves.
Failure to observe could result in injuries from the sharp edges of the coiled-strip spring.
Remove the height adjuster
13.1
Demount the hair dryer and the mounting plate (y) of the guide block.
Caution!
In order to prevent damaging the wall mount while prying out the covers from the
fastening points, drill auxiliary holes into the covers (x).
13.2
Use an extruder to pry into the auxiliary holes in the covers (x) and then lift the covers
out of the fastening points of the wall mount.
13.3
Remove the screws and washers from the wall mounts and then detach the height
adjuster from the wall.
13.4
Disconnect the connecting line of the height adjuster.
Caution!
Place the height adjuster on a soft cloth to prevent scratches.
Remove the old coiled-strip spring
13.5
In the upper wall mount (a) remove the earthing screw (c) and the 4 other screws (b)
from the guide rails and the terminal fastener.
13.6
Pull off the upper wall mount (a).
13.7
Carefully allow the guide block to slide upwards in order to unstrain the coiled-strip
spring (g).
13.8
Unscrew the spacers (d).
13.9
Remove the fastening screws (e) of the coiled-strip spring from the guide rail.
13.10
Pull the guide block upwards and out together with the spiral cable and the cable-guide
rod.
13.11
Unscrew the lock nut (f) on the screw axle.
13.12
Unscrew the screw axle (h) out of the coiled-strip spring.
13.13
Remove the coiled-strip spring.
