18.4 Operating OPT-SW via modem
The EML modem is configured
via a terminal program.
Important:
Be sure that the baud rate of the terminal program is set to
9600 baud!
The baud rate set in the terminal program is adopted by the modem. If the wrong baud rate is set, no
connection can be made.

Modem ignores DTR signal

Automatic pick-up after ringing once

(Caution: All commands will no longer be shown if the terminal program "local echo" is
switched off.)

The following settings must be set on the PC modem in this order:

The maximum baud rate of the modem must be at least 14400 baud.
Only use a modem cable to connect the modem to the PC or the EMIS 1500.
The modem configuration can be carried out over any common terminal program. In

The instrument to which the modem is connected must be selected under the item instrument
connection
