8.3 Cleaning the Uncooled Infrared Focal Plane
Detector
Cleaning Procedures
Even a small amount of dust on the uncooled infrared focal plane detector may
cause major defects in the image.
Please follow the steps below:
1. Remove the lens from the camera.
2. The compressed air produced by rubber bulb syringe can be used to blow off
the dust on the surface of the uncooled infrared focal plane detector.
Do not use compressed air generated by pneumatic circuits in workshops and
other places, because this air usually contains oily mist and will damage the
detector surface.
Note:
1. This section only applies to thermal imagers where the uncooled infrared
focal plane detector can be exposed by removing the lens.
2. In some cases, the dust on the surface of uncooled infrared focal plane
detectors must be cleaned mechanically.
3. This mechanical cleaning operation must be performed by the FOTRIC
customer service department or a service partner authorized by FOTRIC.
8.4 Maintenance of Lithium Battery
1. Do not expose the Battery close to heat sources or high-temperature
environments , such as unattended vehicles in the direct sunlight.
2. Do not disassemble or squeeze the battery and battery pack.
