•

•
Creates ProTools and Avid compatible Time stamped files. Import, convert and spot
effortlessly.
•
Your media is delivered along with your ProTools sessions on any combination of CD,
DVD, firewire drive, server, ftp or your digidelivery site.
•
The nature of the time stamp affords a more useful import into your session. Recording
often begins before the presence of time-code and continues through the cue and beyond
the end of the time code feed. The Fostex 824 extrapolates the proper in-time for the
beginning of the file so when spotted into a ProTools session the file is in appropriate
sync. Roughly illustrated:

FILE NAMING CONVENTIONS AND LOGS
The Fostex records onto a DVD-RAM and internal hard drive partition simultaneously. Think of the
partition as a tapeless three hour-long DAT cassette or “reel.” The naming convention will reflect
this partition or “reel.” The files delivered to you will be named with an abbreviation of your show
and “reel” equivalent. If your project title is “Rembrandt on the Run” the first files might be named
“
ROTR01
_001,
ROTR01
_002” et cetera. When we get to partition 15 the files will be named
“
ROTR15
_001 ” et cetera. Use the
ADR log
to determine which file corresponds to the cue you’re
looking for. This example has
