3.5.4 Ethernet Interface

In Ethernet mode, the Blackbird OECD transmits the data in the form of UDP
messages.

Communication takes place via IPv6 link-local addresses.

The fos4X multicast address

ff02::13c

 is used for device recognition.

For communication via the Ethernet interface, fos4X recommends the use of the
fos4X C API. See fos4X C API documentation.

Time synchronization

In Ethernet mode, the Blackbird OECD synchronizes with a PTP master clock with the
following settings:

IEEE1588v2 via UDP via IPv6.

Standard profile E2E.
