INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
TOYOTA RAV4 2001 -
20K 01
HARDWARE KIT
TOOLS REQUIRED

– Plastic Expansion Plugs
1
– Phillips Screwdriver
5
– #10 x 5/8” Pan Head Sheet Metal Screws
1
– Pair of Needle-nose Pliers
5
– Large Bumpons
or Flat Screwdriver
4
– 3M Anti-abrasion Film Pads
4
– #6 x 3/8” Black Zinc Truss Head Screws
4
– Black “C” clips
INSTALLATION
1. Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Remove and discard the hood seal clips from the center hood seal only by using the needle-nose pliers or the flat screwdriver.
3. Center the deflector on the hood then insert the expansion plugs into the existing holes in the hood seal, through the holes in the
deflector and into the hood.
See Illustration #1.
Be sure that all the components are well seated into the hood. Starting with the center
plug, tighten the #10 x 5/8
” screws into the expansion plugs.
Do not over tighten.
4. Attach the anti-abrasion film pads to the hood in line with the holes in the leading edge of the deflector. Fold the pads in half over the
hood edge to cover at least ½
” of the underside of the hood.

5. Slide the
“C” clips over the edge of the hood in line with the holes in the deflector. Be sure that the “C” clips are well seated against the
hood; it may be necessary to tap on the clips.

6. Be sure that the hole in the top of the clips lines up with the hole in the deflector, then insert the #6 x 3/8
” screws through the top of the
“C” clips, through the deflector and into the middle part of the “C” clips.
Do not over tighten
.

7. Install the five (5) bumpons as shown in Illustration #2.
Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood not on the
deflector!!!!
If the bumpons are installed on the deflector, they will wear through the paint.
8. On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Clean the deflector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only. Do not use chemicals or solvents.
Periodically check to make sure the bumpons are in place and the deflector is secure.
Avoid using automatic car washes.
Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
